The junior professor will be expected to teach in the accredited bachelor and master degree courses of civil engineering.
Applicants are desired to have publications in refereed journals as well as experience in implementing externally funded projects.

The hiring requirements for this position comply with Article 36 of the law on higher education in North-RhineWestphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW).
In the first phase of the Junior Professorship four hours of teaching are obligatory, in the second phase five hours. If the prerequisites of civil servant status (Beamter/Beamtin) are satisfied the appointment is expected to be civil servant for the duration of three years. After a positive evaluation the appointment will be extended for an additional three years.
