Three-Year Limited-Term Assistant Professor in Thermofluids and Solid Mechanics

The University of Windsor invites applications for a three-year limited-term faculty position in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering in the area of Thermofluids and Solid Mechanics at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing May 1, 2017.   This position is subject to final budgetary approval.


The primary focus of this position is that of teaching, rather than research, with candidates expected to teach up to six courses in each year.  Applicants should hold a baccalaureate degree in Engineering and an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, specialized in the area of Thermofluids or Solid Mechanics and should be registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada.This normally requires an undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited/recognized university.

  • a teaching dossier or teaching portfolio showing evidence of teaching effectiveness and excellence that will include sample course syllabi/outlines, teaching evaluations, and a statement of teaching philosophy and interests (resources and templates for completing a teaching dossier can be found at;
  • a research statement outlining research interests and potential for scholarly achievement;
  • samples of scholarly work, and;
  • four (4) names and addresses of potential referees who could provide letters of reference.
