For the Technology Cluster Industrial Mechanic Engineering, Engineering Campus Bruges we are looking for a young and enthusiastic research fellow. You will join a committed and dynamic team working round lightweight machine design and structural bonding.


YOUNG RESEARCHER MECHATRONICS - ADHESIVE BONDING

 

The research that you end up attached to the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Leuven. Within the multi-campus model of the university campus in Bruges research built around Mechatronics. Part of the research focused on structural integrity, in a context of multi-materials and high-performance connectivity technologies. Here, the group is focused on adhesive bonding.


The university campus in Bruges is brand new and excellent accessible by public transport.

One of the bottlenecks in the structural bonding is a good and reliable service life prediction. This plays into the industry using artificial aging a major role. The doctoral project includes the Multi-physical monitoring of the degradation of adhesive joints during such testing. You will carry out experiments and correlates it with structural numerical models. Your research work is an important contribution to better align these aging tests on the actual conditions of bonded joints in machinery.

 

Besides your research work offers you assistance in setting up labs and training sessions on campus.


Profile

 

You like to be Master of the (industrial) engineering, Electrical engineering, Processing of Materials.

 

You have a critical research attitude and working result oriented.

 

You have a broad interest in the machine and you have some knowledge of CAE, DOE ...

 

You are able to give Excellent written and oral reports.

 

Preferably, you have a driving license and you have access to a car.

You will be remunerated in the scale 43 (research assistant assistant) of the KU Leuven.

 

A laptop is offered.
