Tenured or Tenure Track Professor position in thermodynamics of metallurgical processes

 

The position can be filled on any level of the Aalto Tenure Track system from Assistant Professor to Full Professor.

 

Job description

 

The research area of the professorship is thermodynamics of metallurgical processes, including both experimental and theoretical research on primary and secondary raw materials processing. It covers phenomena in high-temperature and aqueous applications.

 

The field of the professorship also contributes to the development of sustainable processes, extraction of critical metals and circular economy.

 

Innovative application of computational thermodynamics and digitalization in process development form the core of the professorship in research, education and industrial co-operation.

 

Requirements

 

Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.

 

Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree in a relevant field.

 

The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research work, teaching and academic leadership and activity in scientific community.

 

Salary

 

Salary will be defined according to Aalto University´s payroll system.
