W3 Professorship for Electrical Engineering (Open Topic)

 

One of the tasks of the professorship is to adequately represent one or more of the following areas of electrical engineering in research and teaching as well as the management of the corresponding chair. Applicants should, for example, be scientifically well-informed in research in one of the following fields and have acquired relevant project and / or industry experience:

 

  • Electromagnetic fields, multiphysical simulation, theoretical electrical engineering
  • Mechatronics, control engineering, automation technology, robotics, autonomous systems, electromobility
  • Sensor technology, signal processing, cognitive systems, measurement technology
  • Electronic systems, microelectronics, circuit technology, optoelectronics, MEMS, packaging, assembly and connection technology, embedded systems
  • Electric drives and machines, conventional or regenerative power generation, electrical energy conversion, decentralized energy supply, electric energy storage
  • Medical electronics, medical technology

 

Applications with other thematic focus are also welcome.

 

Willingness to interdisciplinary cooperation with other disciplines of the university, with non-university research institutions and industry is expected.

 

Teaching requires the participation in the courses of studies of the Department and the neighboring faculties of the Faculty of Engineering. In particular, the participation in the compulsory lectures and internships "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering" is expected.

 

Recruitment requirements are a completed college degree, pedagogical aptitude, which is special proficiency in scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate and beyond additional academic achievements. The latter are documented by habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements, which may also have been carried out in an area outside the university or in a junior professorship.

 

The FAU has the right to appeal. The civil service requirements for appointment are governed by Art. 10 BayHSchPG.

 

The FAU expects participation in the academic self-administration, the commitment to the acquisition of third-party funding and a high presence at the university to the intensive care of the students.
