Announcement for the open position of Full Associate Professorship

1. Position: Associate Professor in Building Engineering (permanent, monthly salary system).

 

2. Division: School of Environment and Society, Tokyo Institute of Technology


3. Research Field: Building Engineering focusing on Architectural Planning (Housing / Residential Area,
Education / Welfare / Medical Facility, Information Technology, Human-Environment System)


4. Requirements: Applicants should hold a Dr. Eng. or equivalent in Building engineering (or equivalent)
on the start date, and demonstrate a distinguished academic career, including proof of original research in
the building engineering, principally in the field of Architectural Planning. Teaching duties are likely to
comprise the full range of Japanese building engineering topics, including Urban Planning and Design.
The principal language of instruction is Japanese.


5. Expected Start Date: Position becomes available on 1st April 2018 (at the beginning of the Japanese
academic year)


6. Deadline of Application: 5:00 PM (JST) on 16th October 2017


7. Documents to be submitted:


1) Curriculum vitae (since graduation from high school), full postal and email addresses, names of all
academic degrees with dates awarded, outline of professional career, record of membership, activity in
relevant academic societies.


2) Full and comprehensive list of reviewed published papers, h-index, and any other relevant professional
works, as educational and social activities, prizes/ awards etc.


3) Copies of five (maximum) significant articles (in either Japanese or English, mark ‘*’ in the list
defined in 2)).

 

4) List of acquisition of external competitive funds (last ten years, marked as a principal investigator and
others).


5) Brief statement of research and teaching interests/ achievements, regarding the applicant’s past career
as well as his/ her future perspectives and goals (within 2 pages).

 

6) Contact information including name, affiliation, email address of four reference persons (two in Japan
and two out of Japan).
