The Department of Chemical Engineering (CHE) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a full-time, one-year visiting faculty position commencing in Fall Semester 2018. Candidates at all academic ranks are encouraged to apply, particularly those with expertise in the following areas: process design, process safety and plant design, biochemical engineering, and water/wastewater treatment design. Applicants are required to have an earned PhD in chemical engineering and demonstrate excellence in teaching. Teaching experience in a North American model of higher education and work experience in North American industry or research facility are highly desirable.

Evaluation of credentials will take place by the faculty search committee when they are submitted in their entirety. The Department of Chemical Engineering at AUS offers both undergraduate and graduate (master of science) programs. AUS is licensed and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates. AUS is accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The bachelor of science degree program in chemical engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org/.


AUS is located in the Emirate of Sharjah (about 15 km from Dubai). AUS is an independent, not-for-profit, coeducational university, serving more than 5,600 students of more than 90 nationalities. All instruction is in English.
