Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering

Permanent Position

 

This is a full time permanent job based in the School of Engineering. We are

seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering in the field of

water engineering or related to environmental engineering.

 

You will have research experience in the broad area of water engineering or

environmental engineering field and you will be capable of establishing a

personal research group of internationally-leading quality. You will initiate,

develop and deliver high quality research, publish the findings, and demonstrate

the impact of your research.

 

You will have the relevant experience to deliver teaching and assessment on

water and environmental engineering of the highest quality on civil engineering

modules within the School of Engineering. You will teach on the range of taught

programmes at undergraduate, specialised masters and continuing professional

development levels in the area of civil engineering. You will engage with higher

education pedagogy and be willing to develop novel teaching methods,

embracing changes in teaching technology and expectations.

 

You will be a pro-active member of academic staff in the Civil and Environmental

and Engineering stream and will be expected to undertake collaborative

activities with other disciplines at the University of Warwick and other

universities in the UK & overseas, and also with existing and new industrial

partner organisations.

 

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field in Civil

Engineering. You will have research experience in the broad area of water

engineering or a related environmental engineering field and you will be capable

of establishing a personal research group of internationally-leading quality.

The candidate will initiate, develop and deliver high quality research, publish the

findings, and demonstrate the impact of your research. You will possess the

ability or potential to generate external funding (grants, contracts etc.) to

support research projects.

 

You will have the relevant experience needed to deliver teaching of the highest

quality on Civil Engineering modules within the School of Engineering. You will

engage with higher education pedagogy and be willing to develop novel teaching

methods, embracing changes in teaching technology and expectations.

their plans and intentions for research activities and grant capture over five

years. This bespoke plan will be treated in the strictest confidence and with full
