INL is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Operations Officer to support the management and organization of activities within the Micro and Nanofabrication Department, according to demand and quality standards. The Operations Officer will ensure our goods and deliverables are produced on time for distribution in a sustainable manner, guaranteeing a cost-efficient flow of our operations – internal projects, contracts with industries and national / EC projects.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Officer you will take on a key role within the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinate workflow of multiple projects within nanofab (internal, external and competitive);
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay;
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand;
  • Support in assigning collaborators and other staff to particular operations, scheduling shifts according to projects and production needs when required;
  • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget;
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption;
  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.);
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports, incl. reporting to national and European agencies;
  • Support elaboration of proposals for national and European projects as well as for industrial partners;
  • Keep paperwork organized;
  • Collaborate and ensure smooth relations and operations between nanofab and quality control, business strategic relations unit, warehouse and other staff.


Job Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Technology Management, Production Engineering, Management Engineering or similar (further education or certification is preferred);
  • Proven experience as operations planner / project manager;
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles;
  • Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning);
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems;
  • Knowledge of math and statistics;
  • Candidates with vast experience in industry (more than 10 years), preferably from the semiconductors area, will be favoured.

  • Strategic and creative thinker;
  • Interest in applied science,;
  • Organizational and reporting skills and results-driven with great problem-solving skills.
  • Strong motivation to work both independently and as part of a team in an interdisciplinary environment, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and to meet deadlines;
  • Advanced communication and computer skills.



  • English is the working language of INL. Upper advance level in oral and written English is required.
  • Working knowledge of another language is an advantage.
