The Department of City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified, temporary, part-time lecturers to teach courses in the undergraduate Urban Studies and Master of City Planning programs should the need arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the department and may begin as early as summer 2017.


General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), maintaining a course website, holding office hours, assigning grades, and advising students.


Basic qualifications: Applicants must hold an advanced degree (minimally a Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in the field of expertise at the time of application, and be able to legally work in the United States. The Department is unable to arrange visas/work permits for Lecturer positions.


Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with degrees currently held, past college-level teaching experience, and equity within the department. Minimum annual full-time salary rate is $52,099.
