We are looking for someone who is student and outcome focussed to teach our Marine Engineering programme in our New Zealand Maritime School.


You will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with excellent verbal and written communication skills to complement your presentation skills and you will enjoy working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.


If you have experience as a sea-going Chief Engineer and ideally also as a shore-based technical superintendent we want to hear from you.


You will have a Marine Engineer Class 1 Certificate of Competency acceptable to Maritime NZ, significant experience as a senior Engineering Officer aboard a variety of ship types in international trade and significant dry dock experience. Previous experience in teaching Marine Engineering Certificates of competency is desirable, as is a relevant degree.


The successful applicant must be prepared to work flexible hours and be prepared to travel occasionally.
