The REDS Lab (www.imperial.ac.uk/reds-lab/) within the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London is seeking to hire a Research Associate to work on the EPSRC funded project titled ‘Trustable dexterous manipulation: morphologies and low-level control schemes for next-generation robot hand technologies’.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 


    • To assist with the analysis of data

    • To ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times

    • To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings

    • To assist with the writing of reports to research sponsors

    • To present findings to colleagues

    • To provide advice to other staff and students

    • To assist with the publication of findings

    • To attend relevant workshops and conferences as necessary

    • To develop contacts within the College and the wider community

    • To promote the reputation of the Group, the Department and the College

 

Essential requirements

 


    • A PhD (or equivalent) in an area pertinent to robotics and physical computing.

    • Research in robotics, as evidenced by publication

    • High-quality prototyping and testing of robotic systems

    • Analytical, numerical, and experimental work

This is a fixed term role for 11 months with the possibility of extension.


Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range £32,380- £34,040 per annum.
