A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious physicist or electrical engineer with a strong publication track record to undertake research in the field of CMOS compatible 2D-material based photodetectors. Based in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, the National Graphene Institute and Photon Science Institute, you will develop broad-band, ultra-fast and up-scalable photodetectors.


You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD or equivalent in physics or electrical engineering. Expertise in photodetectors including device design, fabrication and characterization and knowledge in silicon-based materials and graphene & 2D-materials is essential.


You should have proven ability to work independently, possess strong theoretical and experimental knowledge in photodetectors and semiconductor devices, and be able to present results in an effective manner. You should be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and industrial partners. Good written and oral communication skills are also essential.


The post will be available immediately for a period of 6 months.
