About the role

We are recruiting for an exceptional candidate into the Faculty of Engineering research priority area of Electrical Engineering. You will conduct research in the area of Energy Management based on Customer Side Energy Consumption Analysis and Internet of Things independently and as part of a team. You will also seek external funding as well as participate in the joint supervision of honours and HRD students. 

 

The appointment would be:

  • at level B: $105K plus 17% superannuation and leave loading per annum,
  • full time,
  • 3-year fixed term role ideally starting in February 2019

 

The Faculty reserves the right to offer an appointment on a continuing basis or to directly appoint to advertised positions or withhold the offer till suitable candidate is found.

 

About you

  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in wireless communications, or related area;
  • Experience in working in energy related industry sections with knowledge in telecommunications and energy internet;
  • Experience with edge/fog computing, large-scale optimization for big data systems.
  • Experience in hardware and software design for intelligent control administrative systems including data collection,processing and analysis.
  • Experience in participation in preparation of research grants.
  • Proven track record in conducting independent research with limited supervision
  • At least 1-year project management work experience in intelligent control administrative systems.
  • Strong ability of market research and requirements analysis for electronic products used in Smart Grid/smart city.
  • Experience in application for patents. Track record on independent intellectual property right in intelligent control administrative systems would be well regarded.
  • Strong track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity
