Introduction

INL is seeking a talented and motivated Research Fellow to conduct interesting research and innovation within the INFANTE project led by TEKEVER aerospace company. The main goal of the project is to provide innovative solutions for X-Ray protective coatings for space industry. The work will be conducted at Nanochemistry Research Group of the Micro and Nanofabrication Department at the INL under the guidance of Dr. Yury V. Kolenko.
 
Job Role & Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this position will drive the design, synthesis, development, and testing of nanomaterial-containing formulations for X-Ray protective coatings to be used in space. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for developing novel formulations that are designed to meet customer needs. In addition, she/he is expected to have vast experience in irradiation protective coatings and additives.
 
Job Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements: 
  • PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or Formulation Science;
  • Minimum of 3 years post-PhD experience as a research chemist in coatings;
  • Strong background in polymer chemistry;
  • Strong background in silane and silicone-based coatings;
  • Working knowledge of materials and surface characterization techniques;
  • Solid knowledge in the development of fully formulated products;
  • Additional experience with nanomaterials and additives for industrial coatings is a plus;
  • Knowledge of the state-of-the-art irradiation protective coating technologies is a plus;
  • Capability of becoming a recognized expert in irradiation protective coatings;
  • Ability to publish original research in leading scientific journals;
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and the patenting process is a plus;
  • Knowledge of lab safety and ISO 9001:2015 policies and guidelines is a plus.

Languages

English is the working language of INL. Therefore, excellent communication skills in English are required.
