The George S. Ansell Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines invites applications for two tenured or tenure-track positions. Mines is located in picturesque Golden, in the foothills of the Rockies, 15 miles west of Denver and 20 miles south of Boulder. 

   For Job Number 493382, we seek experienced candidates at the associate or full professor level in the area of welding and joining, with welding chemistry, physical metallurgy and/or corrosion expertise. Exceptional candidates with experiences in shipbuilding and related marine industries will be considered for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Endowed Chair.

   For Job Number 493397, we seek candidates at all levels in the areas of non-ferrous physical metallurgy, metals processing and advanced manufacturing (e.g. casting, welding, additive manufacturing, thermomechanical and deformation processing), energetic materials related to explosives engineering applications, and modeling to support these areas.

   Applicants must hold a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field. Application review will begin on January 31, 2019.
