Lecturer, Electrical - Continuing Position

 

The School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering at Simon Fraser University-Surrey invites applications for a continuing teaching position at the rank of Lecturer.

 

The successful candidate reports to the Director of School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering (MSE) and his/her primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • teaching a regular course load (currently five courses per academic year) in broad areas of Mechatronics Engineering, including Mechatronics Design, Digital Logic and Microprocessor Systems, Embedded Systems, Industrial Controls, Manufacturing Systems, etc.
  • teaching and participating in the administration of the School’s flagship Professional Masters Program is expected
  • performing service to benefit the school, faculty, and the university.


All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. The ideal candidate is expected to possess and demonstrate the following qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. in engineering preferably in Electrical, Computer, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • proven excellence in teaching engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • excellent communication skills
  • eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia within one year of assuming the position
