Description
Penn State Wilkes-Barre invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Surveying Engineering (Tenure-Track, 36 weeks) to begin August 2020. Responsibilities: Teach an average of three (3) courses and associated labs each semester in Surveying and related disciplines; courses will include Least Squares Analysis and Geodosy. The successful candidate will be committed to active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology in a student-centered environment. Must publish in high-quality, refereed journals in the field. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Involve students in undergraduate research and professional activities. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related area at the time of appointment. ABD will be considered if Ph.D in hand by August 2020. Academic specialization in one of the following: Construction Surveying, Land Tenure and Land Administration and Information Systems, Photogrammetry, GNSS, and Terrestrial Laser Scanning. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. Professional license in Surveying in Pennsylvania or a commitment to be licensed within three years is preferred.
