Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a full time, continuing status Academic Programming (AP) faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Ron and Jane Graham School of Professional Development, College of Engineering. The successful candidate will be part of a core team responsible for the design, development and implementation of the new first year engineering program incorporating research-informed best practices in course design, teaching and learning methods, approaches to student assessment, and experiential learning opportunities. In addition, the successful candidate will undertake research focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning, as well as carry out relevant administrative activities.




The new first year engineering program will feature a number of innovative elements, including a modular structure with a high degree of alignment in the sequencing and presentation of materials across courses and over the academic year, a competency-based student assessment model, and a focus on active learning strategies. Delivery of the engineering content, along with coordination of the overall program, will be led by a dedicated team of teaching-focused faculty housed within the Ron and Jane Graham School of Professional Development.

We are seeking candidates who have a bachelor's degree in engineering, as well as an advanced degree in a field related to the position. The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective teaching skills, have an interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning, and be able to teach subject areas that will include some of the following: applied mathematics and linear algebra; professionalism and ethics; health and safety; indigenous cultural contextualization and inclusivity; introductory computer programming; engineering design; engineering drawing and sketching; engineering mechanics (statics and dynamics); fundamentals of electrical circuits; applied engineering research; student mentorship training; and computer-aided drafting and design. Candidates must be qualified to successfully pursue professional registration status with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan. Relevant professional experience and the demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a professional team will be considered assets. Candidates who contribute to the diversity of the College's faculty complement are especially sought.


Salary bands for this position are as follows: Assistant Professor - $93,293 to $112,109.
