Associate Professor of Architecture EngineeringThe Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, University of Copenhagen, invites applications for a position as Teaching Associate Professor in landscape architecture and urban design. The position is placed within the research group: ‘Landscape Architecture and Urbanism’ at the Section for Landscape Architecture and Planning: Design. The candidate will become part of a dynamic teaching team that approaches the field of landscape architecture and urban design from a humanities and design centered perspective. The focus of this position is on design processes and practices within landscape architecture, and urban design including its theories and methodologies with special focus on spatial solutions to the current day complex and intertwined challenges of climate change, loss of biodiversity, equality and diversity. The candidate will teach design studio courses at both bachelor and master level and take on individual supervision for bachelor projects, master theses in the landscape architecture program. The teaching associate professor’s duties will primarily include teaching which is research-based and includes associated examination obligations within the landscape architecture programs. To a limited extent, the position may also include other duties. Qualifications In addition, we prefer candidates with as many of the following competences as possible: Applicants are required to have university level teaching experience, documented teaching competencies and must be able to explain and reflect upon own teaching practice and portfolio. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen teacher training programme for assistant professors is required. Duties thus include teaching, supervision, preparation and participation in examinations, and other tasks requested by the Department. The applicant is allocated app 15% of their time to do own research, development of the field, administrative work, assessment tasks, and grant applications. Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented teaching qualifications and successful teaching experiences at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field.
