Job descriptionJob summaryThe Department of Materials wishes to appoint a Research Associate in Digital Diagnostics to contribute software development and data analysis to a variety of research projects, for example designing and building smartphone applications for integration with the visual read-out tests for diagnosis of infectious (e.g. COVID-19) and non-communicable diseases (e.g. cancer and cardiovascular disease). The ideal candidate would have a background in data science related to healthcare with software/app development experience and knowledge of command-based statistical software. The post-holder will be active within a vibrant and multidisciplinary environment comprising multiple projects. This post will liaise closely with researchers trained in a wide array of faculties, including nanomaterials, engineering, as well as biology (with focus on diagnostics and digital application translation). The Research Associate in Digital Diagnostics will contribute to digital translation and data analytics and visualisation projects. In the first instance, the post-holder will develop smartphone applications compatible with the visual diagnostic tests developed in the group.
