Applications are invited for a two-year post-doctoral position to join the Sustainable Reaction Engineering group led by Professor Alexei Lapkin (

The project is part of a Programme Grant "Chemobots: Digital-Chemical-Robotics to Convert Code to Molecules and Complex Systems" led by Professor Leroy Cronin at Glasgow University. The Cambridge part of the project will focus on development of intelligent agents to work with data generated by chemical robots, generate new experimental hypotheses and create experimental designs. Specific focus will be on exploration of multiple process options and using optimisation techniques, multi-objective optimisation, generalisation of knowledge from data-rich experiments through ML tools such as symbolic regression.
