About You & the Role

  • Establish and deliver high quality research/scholarly activities in the recording of relevant biomedical signals and clinical data, and liaise with the clinicians towards developing new research project opportunities;
  • Work collaboratively as well as independently with multidisciplinary researchers contributing to quality research through communication and presentation of research outcomes & concepts in high quality papers/journal articles, seminars, conference and forums;
  • Prepare and submit competitive research grant proposals and applications;
  • Support and assist in preparing daily research report and documentation that’s needs to be submitted to the stakeholders involved in this project;
  • Contribute 10% of your in the teaching and supervision of undergraduate  and higher degree by research students as required.

You will have:

  • Proven track record of emerging research publications and contributions via published papers, awards, presentation at conferences and research forums in the field of biomedical signal analysis;
  • Experience in grant submissions and applications as well as generating alternative funding through effective liaison with external partner, industry and government;
  • Effective organizational skills to manage and plan time efficiently to conduct innovative research independently and collaboratively as a team member in meeting project outcomes and timelines;
  • Sound reporting skills and high levels of attention to detail via maintenance of updated information, reports, recordings and all other associated documentation;
  • Capability to communicate (both written and verbal) and present research findings, concepts and knowledge with sound problem-solving and analytical skills equipped with the passion & ability to build strong relationships across all levels of professional staff within the organization.


Mandatory:PhD qualified or equivalent in a Biomedical Engineering (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) or in a closely related subject relevant to this research areas/projects. Candidate who have completed their Master in Engineering or Master in Science in Biomedical Engineering (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) will be considered.

Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
