Working field:

The Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) Group seeks to hire a Research Associate (PhD candidate or Postdoc) to conduct R&D in the area of “scalable data management on modern hardware”. The goal is to research how to leverage modern hardware, such as many-core processors, co-processors like GPUs and FPGAs, new storage media like NVRAM and SSDs, as well as high-speed networks for scalable data stream processing. In this context, the research associate will investigate how modern hardware can be efficiently applied in modern computer architectures and consider applications such as e-sciences, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, or Digital Humanities as technology drivers. This effort is part of the recently established priority program SPP 2037 “Scalable Data Management for Future Hardware" funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG).
