Research Fellow in Applied Autonomy for Small Inspection RobotsAre you an enthusiastic and experienced researcher in applied robotic systems? Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge as part of a world class robotics team? Do you want to design and create robotic systems that will change our lives? As a key member of the lab, you will lead on the development of new autonomous algorithms, systems and software deployed on robots in real world scenarios. The Real Robotics lab has over £3m of current research projects. Our research includes robotic systems to inspect and repair cities infrastructure, design and manufacturing of robots, including world class robot fabrication facilities. Current major externally funded projects include Pipebots, Trustworthy autonomous systems node in Verification, and the recently awarded ‘strength in places’ funding linked with the Advanced Machinery and Productivity Institute (the AMP Institute). Holding a PhD (or have submitted your thesis before taking up the role) and a Bachelors or Masters in Robotics, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering; you will have experience in applied autonomy on real physical robots (for example, undertaking tasks such as mapping, SLAM, & Navigation). What we offer in return
