The Institute of Transport Planning and Systems (IVT) of the ETH Zurich is looking for a chair for traffic planning to appoint a research assistant to a Ph.D. student in the field of traffic measurement and modeling.


Job Description

The chair develops new methods for measuring and modeling travel and consumer behavior. The focus will be on complex methods for capturing and tracking human behavior and related innovative econometric modeling approaches (with a focus on discrete decision modeling). Long-term surveys of individual traffic behavior over several weeks and urban air mobility (UAM) will be two important topics. This 100% job is limited to six years. A dissertation is possible and desirable within the scope of this employment.


your profile

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, teamwork and a master's degree in a relevant field (economics / econometrics, statistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, civil engineering, etc.). Solid basic knowledge in statistics, data collection and analysis, economics and / or traffic planning are beneficial. Very good written and oral German and English skills are required.
