Position Description

The Centre for Bioengineering Research & Education (CBRE), Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary, invites applications for a Sessional Instructor appointment.


The successful candidate will be expected to teach an undergraduate/ graduate level course BMEN 585/619: Cellular, Molecular and Tissue Engineering. This course is listed in the University of Calgary Calendar for the Fall 2019 session. 


The Centre for Bioengineering Research and Education is seeking a candidate with a completed doctoral or master's degree. Applicants must possess excellent teaching potential and a demonstrated background in cellular engineering, molecular engineering, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, or similar field. 


The calendar description of BMEN 585/619 is as follows:

BMEN 585/619: Cellular, Molecular and Tissue Engineering

Concepts, calculations, and methodologies in molecular, cellular and tissue engineering will be discussed and applied to solve problems in the areas of molecular diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, nanomedicine and regenerative medicine. Topics include cell biology and culture, stem cells, bioreactors, biomaterials, drug delivery, fluid dynamics, kinetics, and diffusion.


Instructor contact hours:

Lecture L01: Tuesdays/Thursdays 11:00 am. - 12:15 pm.
Lab B01: Fridays 1:00 - 2:50 pm.
