Applications are invited for the position of a university professor for


Logistics


at the Institute of Logistics Engineering of Graz University of Technology (TU Graz), Faculty of Mechanical
Engineering and Economic Sciences. It is planned to fill this position, pursuant to Sec. 98 of the Austrian
University Act 2002, as soon as possible. The position will be based on a permanent employment contract, as
defined under the terms of Austrian civil-law, with TU Graz.


The field of activity covers the entire technical structure design for logistics systems and equipment in the
established research fields of logistics technology, intralogistics and urban logistics. Possible focal points of
research include, for example, structural design, automation technology or the flexible networking of intralogistics
systems. When designing the research fields, particular consideration should be given to networking with
interdisciplinary fields such as robotics and digitisation (industry 4.0 technologies).


We are looking for an applicant with an internationally recognized research profile (scientific theory, modelling,
simulation and experiment).


Applicants should have experience in industry or industry-related activities that can be expected to lead to a
committed representation of the subject in research and teaching. Experience and the willingness for
interdisciplinary cooperation as well as active participation in all faculty matters are required. In addition,
collaboration in inter-faculty focal areas is expected.


The institute has excellent laboratory equipment and a strong network in science and industry. Teaching duties
include technical drawing and courses in CAD and CAE for the bachelor curricula of the faculty, and specific
engineering topics of logistics in the master’s courses.


Required candidate profile
1. PhD-level university education, in Austria or abroad, in disciplines relevant for the position,
2. excellent scientific and academic qualification in Logistics,
3. excellent teaching capabilities,
4. leadership skills,
5. the ability to work in a team,
6. specific project experience and references in the area of Logistics Engineering,
7. excellent command of German and English.


The transfer of residence to the area of Graz is required.
