The Vice President for Research and Innovation (VPRI) will play a central role in developing, leading and implementing the strategic development and direction of policy and practice in research and innovation at UCC. The Vice President for Research and Innovation will be a key member University Management Team. S/he will provide vision, leadership and support for the evolution of the University’s research and innovation strategy in a competitive regional, national and international environment.

The Vice President for Research and Innovation will work closely with the UCC senior management team and the Directors of Research Centres and Institutes, to ensure that these research units are, developed to assist the University in reaching its strategic research goals and to promote and develop good research governance within the University. The Vice President for Research and Innovation will also foster and lead research initiatives, to attain national and international recognition for the University.
