The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Remediation Technologies based on Nano Materials and Chemistry.


Job Description:

- As a MITACS post-doc for the current new remediation technology development project, the post-doc will lead in activities that contribute to the R&D project, which will be mainly in-situ and ex-situ remediation technologies
- Developing novel materials for enhancing remediation of soil and water
- Coordinate R&D project technical tasks in collaboration with external R&D partners and the sponsoring company
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis and report activities
- Supervise / conduct lab scale and/or field scale testing to evaluate technical aspects as well as engineering economics of developed remediation technologies
- Write technical reports and papers
- Supervise and train highly qualified personnel (HQP)



- Graduate of a Ph.D. program within five years
- Major in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Geology/Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental Science
- Strong interpersonal, writing, verbal communication and sound judgment skills
- Good understanding of characterization tools and mechanical devices
