The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (ENCS) at Concordia University, Montreal, seeks an outstanding candidate for one tenure-track in the area of Microfluidics and Microreactor Engineering. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant Engineering discipline and must be eligible for P.Eng. designation in Chemical Engineering. Successful candidates must have teaching and research expertise in areas such as, but not limited to: chemically reactive microfluidic and nanofluidic systems, microreactors, process intensification, chemical microsensors, transport phenomena and reaction kinetics in any of the above systems.

The successful candidate will join a newly established Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering and is expected to contribute to a vibrant and collaborative environment within and outside the department. While the areas listed are a priority for the department, truly outstanding candidates in any area of Chemical and Materials Engineering that will contribute to the strategic direction of the department, including chemical and bioseparations, biorefining, chemical process simulation, design, and control, surface, coating, and interfacial engineering, nanotechnology and nanomaterials engineering, biomaterials and biochemical engineering, will be considered. Concordia University attracts high quality domestic and international students in all its programs and has stable and strong enrollment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The appointment is intended to be at the rank of Assistant Professor but exceptional candidates at the Associate level may also be considered. Depending on the rank, the successful candidate must have the potential for or have an exceptional track record of world-class research; attracting competitively awarded research funds, as well as teaching and curriculum development within the area of the position.

Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association, preferably in the province of Quebec, is essential. The language of instruction at Concordia is English, however, knowledge of French is an asset.
