The University of Windsor's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), in the Faculty of Engineering, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Building Information Modelling, commencing July 1, 2018. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

This position is one of 50 new tenure-track Assistant Professor appointments that the University of Windsor is making over three years as part of a visionary strategic investment in our students and faculty. This cohort of 50 new teachers, scholars, researchers, and creators will demonstrate both disciplinary grasp and interdisciplinary reach, providing extraordinary leadership in research, teaching, and learning for a new generation.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach, conduct research and supervise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Civil Engineering, while developing a vigorous externally funded research program.

The successful candidate will provide evidence of high quality graduate research in one or more of the following areas, as related to BIM: project management, structural health monitoring, infrastructure resiliency, life cycle analyses and energy monitoring of green buildings and sustainable infrastructure, asset management
and maintenance, smart structures and energy harvesting, advanced modeling and facility management using improved data mining, and signal processing and data compression techniques. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated the ability or potential to attract external research funding.

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in Civil Engineering and an earned doctorate in Civil Engineering or an equivalent area.

Related North American industrial or consulting experience will be considered an asset. Evidence of engaging undergraduate and graduate students in research and projects, and the ability to thrive in a cross-disciplinary environment are desired.

Registration or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is required. Applicants who are not licensed to practice engineering in Canada should describe their intended pathway to achieving the P.Eng. designation.

 a research statement outlining research interests and potential for scholarly achievement;

 a teaching dossier or teaching portfolio showing a potential for or evidence of teaching effectiveness and excellence that will
include sample course syllabi/outlines, teaching evaluations, and a statement of teaching philosophy and interests (resources

 graduate transcripts; and
 four (4) names and addresses of potential referees who could provide letters of reference.
