Job Description


The desired candidate has, at the heart of his training, the people-environment studies and the cultural studies. Users, local communities and decision-makers occupy a central place in its research, design and collaboration with the community. He or she will teach in courses and workshops related to these fields of study and research, mentor graduate students and collaborate on curriculum updates. He or she will participate in the life of the School, its proper functioning and its influence.




  • Teaching and mentoring of students at three levels of study, in their area of expertise and in the periphery
  • Research or research-creation and publication in the field of competence
  • Participation in pedagogical and administrative activities of the School of Architecture and the University
  • Participation in external activities of an academic nature contributing to the influence of the School of Architecture and the University as well as the development of partnerships with communities

Selection criteria


  • Doctorate degree obtained or in the process of being awarded (exceptionally, a Canadian application with a file equivalent to the requirements of a doctorate may be considered)
  • Mastery of the French language or commitment to quickly reach the level required by the post
  • Excellence, recognized by peers, in the field of people-environment relations or an intercultural approach to the architectural project (awards, publications, grants and subsidies, etc.)
  • University teaching experience in his field of expertise and in the periphery
  • Ability to obtain funding for research development



  • Regular full-time position
  • Treatment according to the collective agreement in force at Université Laval
