£36914 to £49553 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are looking for an Assistant Professor whose expertise lies in Construction Management and welcome applications from well qualified individuals with the ability to teach all aspects of Construction Management in our Civil Engineering programmes.  

This post is available on a research and teaching basis or a teaching only basis. Please indicate your preference in your application.   

  • For candidates with a suitable research track record and a PhD, you would be appointed to a research and teaching (R&T) role and join a research group in the faculty where you can contribute to the existing strengths of that group and have the potential to flourish within it.   
  • For candidates without a PhD or without a research track record, but with appropriate experience, we would welcome applications for a teaching and learning (T&L) role.  

You will be able to carry out the academic duties to the highest standard and to evidence how, through your personal experience and background, you will be able to:

  • Plan and deliver high quality taught modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Construction Management
  • Supervise final year UG & PG students 
  • Conduct your own original research and supervise researchers (R&T)
  • Create a bold strategy for your research (R&T) and show how it will benefit from, and bring benefit to, interaction with your colleagues

  • That you can work well in a team and interact with existing research in the team to create greater insight into the complex challenges that construction management faces (R&T)
  • Your ability to contribute positively to the collegiate activities of the Department, such as open days and outreach activities
