Job SummaryPurdue University Northwest (PNW) with campuses in Hammond and Westville, Indiana, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with a 9-month academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Construction Engineering and Management Technology housed within the Department of Construction Science and Organizational Leadership in the College of Technology, starting on August 18, 2025. Teaching ExpectationsResponsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses at the Hammond campus in various construction engineering and management technology subjects or fields. Research and Engagement ExpectationsAssistant Professors are also expected to conduct scholarly research leading to refereed journal publications, writing grant proposals, and industrial engagement and various committees. Opportunities for interacting with regional businesses are encouraged. The Department of Construction Science and Organizational Leadership offers full support when presenting peer review papers at conferences. Likewise, both the department and the university offer several internal opportunities for professional development and for external grant application preparation. Department ProfileThe Department of Construction Science and Organizational Leadership is housed at the Hammond, Indiana campus and offers two ABET accredited baccalaureate degree programs: Construction Engineering and Management Technology and Organizational Leadership and Supervision. The department also offers masters and doctoral program through the College of Technology Graduate Studies.

Education and ExperienceA Doctoral degree in engineering or technology, construction engineering, construction management, or a related field is required by August 18, 2025. Experience working in the construction engineering/technology field. The undergraduate degree must be in a relevant area. Candidates with documentation of teaching in a group learning environment and developing industry-relevant laboratory experiments, such as past teaching reviews or awards, are encouraged to apply.
