DescriptionThe Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position in Environmental Engineering and Science with a focus on water treatment and quality, including and not limited to 1) physical and chemical processes for drinking water treatment for the removal of emerging contaminants and pathogens as well as chemical treatment(s) by-products, 2) water-health nexus and risk assessment in the context of climate change, adaptation and resilience, public and environmental health, and environmental systems and infrastructure. Such research directions are aligned with the Department’s focus on climate change and the environment in the following strategic areas: 1) sustainable energy, 2) climate change and the environment, 3) resilient infrastructure. We are seeking scholars that are motivated to join and collaborate with our vibrant Environmental Engineering Group. Faculty members in the group currently lead research efforts in green approaches to water and wastewater treatment, solid waste management, bioenergy and resource recovery from waste and wastewater, biomaterials for environmental applications, environmental remediation, ecotoxicology, and air quality and pollution control.The successful candidate will establish a recognized research program and develop research partnerships with colleagues across the University. They are expected to develop a vigorous externally-funded research program, supervise graduate students, and teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
