Job SummaryThe Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) invites applications for a full-time Teaching Faculty at either Associate or Full ranks who will also serve as Faculty Co-Director of the Engineering Partnership Program (EPP) with Western Colorado University (WCU). This position involves teaching on the WCU campus in Gunnison and is anticipated to begin in the Spring 2026 semester. Courses to be taught span the Mechanical Engineering undergraduate curriculum, which has a focus on hands-on and project-based courses. Possible future teaching needs include Aerospace Engineering and/or Biomedical Engineering courses. The candidate will also be expected to provide professional service as Co-Director of the EPP between WCU and CU Boulder. The Co-Director will be responsible for overseeing and administering the upper division curriculum in the EPP, including coordinating courses taught by CU Boulder faculty in Gunnison, among other responsibilities (see section on “What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be”). This is a non-tenure track appointment and may be renewable. The successful candidate will likely be appointed as an Associate Teaching Professor, although appointment as a Full Teaching Professor may be possible depending on experience and qualifications. The position will report to the Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The EPP is housed in a new $60M dollar facility with state-of-the-art labs and facilities, allowing the program to concentrate on industry-focused projects and project-based learning initiatives, in a small classroom environment. The EPP provides a terrific opportunity to work in a university setting and enjoy all the amenities of small town living in the mountains of central Colorado. Located in historic Gunnison, Western is minutes from mountain biking, skiing, climbing, rafting, hiking.
