DescriptionThe Faculty of Engineering would like to nominate a woman or an individual who identifies as a gender minority internal to the Faculty for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair. This opportunity is open only to current Assistant and Associate Professors of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Alberta, as well as to newly appointed Assistant and Associate Professors who will take up their appointments prior to April 1, 2025. To achieve a balanced distribution of chairs between departments, applications from the following departments will be considered: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Materials Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Applicants who are more than 10 years from having earned their highest degree (and where career breaks exist, such as maternity, parental or extended sick leave, clinical training, etc.) may have their eligibility for a Tier 2 Chair assessed through the program’s Tier 2 Justification Process.
