£31,302 to £39,609 per annum with potential to progress to £43,267 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the AMRC North West near the beginning of its' journey and play a part in placing Lancashire amongst the most innovative regions in the UK.


Working with some of the largest names in Aerospace, Automotive and Construction, and SMEs around North West region, your work will encompass the implementation of Industrial Internet of Things (IoT), and Digitally Assisted Assembly (DAA) technologies, for advanced manufacturing systems. We require a diverse skill-set, including good organisational skills, the ability to research, problem solve, design, and implement ideas in a hands-on environment In this role, you will be required to have a practical approach, a positive attitude, and be a confident communicator.


As a Digital Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking various engineering duties, running of research projects as well as project scope, set up and delivery. You will be responsible for reporting progress to Technical Leads and develop areas of niche specialism in response to industrial requirements with the objective of building research themes and associated teams in these areas.


Applications from candidates with significant professional or research experience in software, electronics or manufacturing areas, covering a multi-disciplinary skillset are welcomed. You will be educated to a Masters/Graduate degree level in one of the fields including, but not limited to: Mechatronics, software engineering, electronics engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics, embedded systems, control systems, advanced manufacturing, CAD/CAM/CIE


You will:


Have a good masters/graduate degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent industrial experience).
Ability to analyse/solve problems using novel approaches with an appreciation of longer-term implications
Have general programming skills within supplementary languages in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Matlab
Have a strong grasp of software engineering principles.
Experience developing one or more of the following; augmented reality, virtual reality, big-data, internet of things (IoT) applications.
