About Concordia

Concordia University is recognized as Canada’s top university under the age of 50 and one of the most international universities in the world. With more than 7,000 faculty and staff, and 47,000 students, Concordia enables individuals to grow, contribute and innovate.

Located on two campuses in the heart of cosmopolitan Montreal, our faculty and students benefit from state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities and compelling program offerings in our four Faculties, Library, School of Graduate Studies and Centre for Continuing Education.

Today’s challenges require new, collaborative, interdisciplinary thinking and action. We are designing a next-generation university that draws on the skills of our faculty and on the strengths of our external academic, private and public sector partnerships to prepare our students and society for what comes next. Our priority is to mobilize cross-sections of experts to translate novel scholarship into real-world applications. We aspire to ask big questions on health, well-being and social responsibility and to find creative solutions that transcend academic boundaries.

Ambitious, innovative, research- and community-engaged, our university is celebrated for its commitments to transformative learning, convergent thinking and public impact. Concordia supports teaching, learning and research by its commitment to sustaining excellence, inclusion and opportunity for the entire academic community.

In 2019, Concordia was recognized as a top Montreal employer for the fourth year running. We made the list based on a number of criteria, including pension and benefits, training and development opportunities and the physical and social aspects of the workplace.

About Montreal

Montréal, our home, is exceptional. It is a truly unique city — safe and clean, vibrant and diverse, with new things to discover around every corner.

Another reason people flock to Montreal is because it's an affordable city. With a diverse population of 1.7 million, it is home to four major universities and several clinical research centres, and has been named the best student city in the world.

The city is home to over 170,000 university students, a thriving multicultural scene and the most affordable tuition in Canada.

Bilingualism is a part of Montréal’s tradition and adds to its inspiring atmosphere. While supporting a significant Anglophone population, it is the second largest French-speaking city in the world.

Montréal is famed for its innovative culinary scene and festivals that run throughout the year. As North America’s number one choice for international events and festivals, it was also the first metropolis to be designated a UNESCO City of Design by the Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity.

The city is recognized globally as an important centre for commerce, aerospace, transport, finance, pharmaceuticals, technology, design, gaming, film and world affairs.
