Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering (T&R or T&PP)Department: School of Engineering & Materials Science OverviewAbout the Role We are looking for an ambitious individual, able to complement and expand our internationally renowned multidisciplinary research within future transport systems, focused on the aerospace field. In REF2022 SEMS was ranked 7th overall and 2nd for the quality of our research outputs. We look for either world-leading researchers, to make significant contributions at the forefront of international research (Teaching & Research: T&R route) or for well-respected industrialists with a research background, able to expand engineering professional practice within the school (Teaching & Professional Practice: T&PP route). The T&R route allocates ~50% of time to research activity. The T&PP route focuses on leadership and education delivery, allocating ~20% to ongoing engineering professional practice, for example consultancy or industry applied research. About You T&R route: Applicants should have a proven track record of research achievement demonstrated through refereed journal publications, and at a minimum outstanding potential for research income generation, with a proven track record expected for senior lecturer level. T&PP route: Applicants require a clear strategy to integrate and grow professional engineering practise within the school and augment our industrially focused impact. A commitment to high-quality student education is essential, to develop and support our taught programmes. Experience of teaching in aerodynamics, spacecraft dynamics, aerothermodynamics, flight control and simulation, Python-based aerodynamic simulation is highly desirable. The post is based at the Mile End campus in London. It is a full time, permanent appointment with an expected start from April 2023. The starting salary for Lecturer will be Grade 5/6, in the range of £44,931 - £55,805 per annum, or for Senior lecturer. Grade 7, in the range of £58,949 - £65,823.
