The School of Engineering and Information Technology (SEIT) is seeking applications for part-time education focused lecturer positions in the following courses:

Cyber Security Discipline:

  • Cyber Offence & Threats and Opportunities
  • Wireless, Mobile and internet of Things Security
  • Cyber Security Risk Management
  • Digital Forensics – Cyber Security
  • Critical Infrastructure and Control System Security
  • Network and Memory Forensics
  • Big Data and Decision Analytics for Cyber Security
  • Introduction to Exploit Development

Systems Engineering Discipline:

  • Project management Body of Knowledge
  • Reliability Engineering Fundamentals
  • Reliability Engineering Assurance
  • Reliability Program Management
  • Non-Communications Electronic Warfare
  • Explosive Ordnance Technology
  • Project Administration
  • Weapons Engineering


  • Marine Technology
  • Fundamentals of Surveillance Technologies

These roles will contribute to course and program delivery, development and innovation, in a team-teaching environment. The position will be educating the next generation of Australian leaders and scholars in this important and growing field.

About the Role:

Role: Lecturer / Senior Lecturer - Education Focused
Salary: Academic Level B $112,678 - $132,832 (pro-rata) plus 17% Superannuation
            Academic Level C $136,859 - $157,014 (pro-rata) plus 17% Superannuation
Employment type:  Positions may be filled full time or part time 
Term: Fixed term
Location: Canberra, ACT

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have a PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development.
  • Experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. 
  • Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
  • A demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable).


The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks prior to commencement in this role. The checks that will be undertaken are listed in the Position Description. The successful candidate will be required to work from the UNSW Canberra campus. To be successful you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
