The Opportunity:

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering & Architectural Scienceat Ryerson Universityinvites applications for a one-year Limited Term Faculty (LTF) position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering. The appointment shall be effective January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, subject to final budgetary approval.

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) has 39 faculty members and offers four-year accredited programs leading to Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. The Department also offers graduate programs leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree, and Master of Engineering (MEng) degree. The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department is home to about 1000 undergraduate and 150 graduate students.
Limited Term Faculty appointments at Ryerson University may not exceed a combined total of four years. Applicants with prior Ryerson LTF appointments need to consider this limitation, as it may render them ineligible to apply.

The position will only have teaching and service obligations. The teaching responsibilities include a range of undergraduate and graduate Industrial Engineering courses as listed in the Ryerson calendar at and %20AND%20INDUSTRIAL%20ENGINEERING.pdf, respectively.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering. The successful candidate will have demonstrated evidence of related teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels and a capacity for collaboration and collegial service. Registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng. or Ing) in a Canadian province is required for this position.
