The Project Manager will join a vibrant project management team at emLab, an interdisciplinary group of scientists based at UC Santa Barbara that conducts cutting-edge, data-driven research on the power, limitations, and design of market-based approaches to tackle the world's most pressing environmental problems. In collaboration with implementing partners, emLab aims to better align environmental objectives and economic incentives in support of sustainable livelihoods and a resilient planet.

The Project Manager will work closely with project principal investigators, researchers, and partners to manage projects and partnerships within emLab’s energy and climate research portfolio. The Project Manager’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: coordinating diverse interdisciplinary project teams to execute academic and applied research deliverables; leading internal and external communications with the research team and partners; facilitating information sharing and decision-making; strengthening partner relationships and supporting effective collaboration to translate research to impact; synthesizing research and writing key components of project deliverables; and developing and adapting a detailed project plan to track progress on research activities and deliverables to ensure the approach is executed in a timely manner.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, science-driven, and motivated team player who is able and willing to juggle a broad spectrum of responsibilities to fill this exciting and dynamic role. The successful candidate will have the management, organizational, and interpersonal skills to lead diverse teams of project researchers, build and strengthen relationships with funders and project partners, and communicate research findings to diverse audiences.

This appointment includes a competitive benefits package with medical, dental and vision insurance and a UC retirement plan. Salary is commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
