PhD Position in Electrical Engineering

In the framework of the European Marie Curie Doctoral Network “NanoRAM” between academic and industrial partners, we have an opening doctoral position at the Laboratory of Biosensors and Bioelectronics of the Institute for Biomedical Engineering (ETH Zurich D-ITET).

NanoRAM is dedicated to advancing the next generation of tools for fast nanomechanical spectroscopy, nano-robotics, correlative super-resolution nanoscopy, nano biomechanics and mechanotransduction (for more information, https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101120146).

Starting date: 1st of March 2024.

Job description

At LBB, you will have the unique opportunity to discover the leading edge of single-cell instrumentation, learning and working with the FluidFM technology for mechanical and electrical stimulation of individual cells.

Your profile

You are expected to bring...

  • Passion for experiments;
  • Critical thinking;
  • Self-management skills;
  • Master in Biophysics, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering;
  • bioAFM experience during the Master thesis is of advantage;
  • No longer than 6 months spent in Switzerland from March 2022 to February 2024.
