LSTME Busan is offering

  • 1 PostDoc research position
  • 1 PhD candidate research position

in Experimental Fluid Mechanics


Offers and duties:

  • Establishing and supervising the Experimental Fluid Mechanics Lab

○     Implementing established methods in experimental fluid mechanics

○     Developing, validating, and applying emerging methods in experimental fluid mechanics

○     Emphasis on non-invasive, optical, digital, imaging methods

  • Applying for project funding

○     Korean

○     bilateral German-Korean

○     international

  • Assisting in administrative tasks
  • Reporting directly to the Scientific Steering Committee consisting of professors from renowned German and Korean universities (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Technische Universität Berlin (TUB), Inje University and Dongseo University Busan)
  • Salary:

○     PostDoc: 66 Mio KRW annually

○     PhD candidate: 30 Mio. KRW annually


Requirements:

  • PostDoc:

○     PhD degree in Fluid Mechanics or closely related field from an internationally renowned university

○     Hands-on experience with experimental methods in fluid mechanics

○     Excellent research record

○     Outstanding record of peer-reviewed publications

○     Ability to work independently

○     Ability to identify opportunities for research, development, and collaboration

○     Experience in mentoring students

○     Experience in project acquisition is a plus

○     International research experience is a plus

 

  • PhD candidate (graduation at the university of the supervising professor, member of the Steering Committee):

○     Master degree in Engineering or Physics from an internationally renowned university

○     Ability to work independently and interdisciplinarily

○     Strong technical and analytical skills

○     Committed, self-dependent, responsible, team-worker

○     Likes to work in a Korean-international environment

○     Good English communication skills

○     Pioneering spirit
