The Division Microrobotics and Control Engineering (Prof. Dr.-lng. habil. S. Fatikow), Department of Computing Science of the University of Oldenburg invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) The position will start 01.10.2020. The position is full time (100%), pay rate E13 TV-L, and available for 3 years with the possibility of an extension. The position is suitable for part time work. The position serves the qualification of junior scientists and offers the opportunity to continue professional development. Our team: Our Division's research activities are on robotic handling and automation at micro/nano scale. The research work covers a broad range of related topics, including a.o. microscopy (SEM, AFM, SMM and optical), robotic automation and control engineering, handling technologies for micro/nano scale materials, and robot-based nanofabrication. Several unique microrobotic setups for automated handling at micro/nano scale have been developed in the Division for different applications. Your research focus: The most advanced setup in our Division is dedicated to material handling and characterization; it includes three nanopositioning robots (16 DoF in total, incl. goniometric module), a high-resolution image acquisition system, and a high-speed DSP-based piezo controller. The robots can carry tools for SPM, scanning probe lithography, and other applications. The setup is an open HW/SW platform and expandable with additional application-specific HW/SW components.
