Rese­arch assist­ant (Post­Doc) - salary grade E13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len - 2nd qual­i­fic­a­tion period (Habil­it­a­tion)

Work­ing field:

  • col­lab­or­a­tion with and sup­port for the head of the chair in area of rese­arch and teach­ing
  • sup­port in the devel­op­ment and imple­ment­a­tion of new cour­ses in the field of flight guid­ance, air traf­fic, nav­ig­a­tion and unman­ned sys­tems
  • Inde­pend­ent super­vi­sion of bach­elor (B.Sc.) and mas­ter (M.Sc.) the­ses and sup­port of doc­toral stu­dents
  • inde­pend­ent teach­ing tasks in the areas: unman­ned sys­tems, air traf­fic, flight guid­ance, nav­ig­a­tion and sen­sor tech­no­logy
  • inde­pend­ent rese­arch in the field of unman­ned sys­tems, nav­ig­a­tion and flight guid­ance
  • acquis­i­tion of natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal (e.g. European) third-party fund­ing pro­jects
  • pub­lic­a­tion of rese­arch res­ults in journ­als and at con­fer­ences
  • col­lab­or­a­tion in admin­is­trat­ive tasks in the spe­cial­ist field
  • will­ing­ness to pre­pare a habil­it­a­tion

Require­ments:

  • suc­cess­fully com­ple­ted sci­ent­i­fic uni­ver­sity stud­ies (Mas­ter, Dip­loma or equi­val­ent) in aero­space engin­eer­ing, elec­tri­cal engin­eer­ing or com­par­able with focus on flight guid­ance, nav­ig­a­tion, unman­ned air­craft sys­tems or other rela­ted fields
  • suc­cess­fully com­ple­ted doc­tor­ate in area of aero­space engin­eer­ing, elec­tri­cal engin­eer­ing, soft­ware devel­op­ment, or unman­ned sys­tems
  • very good pro­gram­ming skills and soft­ware know­ledge (e.g. C, C++, Python, Mat­lab)
  • rese­arch exper­i­ence in the area of flight guid­ance and nav­ig­a­tion (e.g. GNSS, laser-based, vis­ion-based, beacon-based) and for aer­ial vehi­cles includ­ing UAS
  • exper­i­ence with the oper­a­tion, con­struc­tion or modi­fic­a­tion of UAS and the integ­ra­tion of sen­sors (e.g. laser-scan­ners, GNSS, mon­ocu­lar, ste­reo cam­eras, radar) onboard the UAS
  • exper­i­ence with Linux and/or real-time oper­at­ing sys­tems
  • teach­ing exper­i­ence in the field of flight guid­ance, avion­ics, nav­ig­a­tion, unman­ned sys­tems
  • com­mu­nic­a­tion skills and exper­i­ence in team­work
  • suf­fi­cient lan­guage pro­fi­ciency to teach clas­ses in both Ger­man and Eng­lish is expec­ted
Desi­red com­pet­en­cies:
  • cre­at­ive ideas for the devel­op­ment of new rese­arch areas and pro­jects, inde­pend­ent super­vi­sion of pro­jects
  • very good pre­sent­a­tion skills
