Research Associate in Wind and Water Velocity Field Imaging University of Edinburgh School of Engineering United Kingdom

This Research Associate position will contribute to the CIDER Platform Grant funded by EPSRC within the Institute for Digital Communications, School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh.

The research project aims to develop a new 3D reconstruction framework for wind and water velocity field imaging which could support future renewable energy remote sensing and harvest. The post holder will work on the design of the fast and robust algorithms for velocity field reconstruction. 2D and 3D wind velocity field and water current field will be simulated first to test the performance of reconstruction algorithms. Real wind Lidar and underwater acoustic measurement data will be used to further validate the performance of reconstructions algorithms. The successful candidate is expected to have previous experience on signal processing, inverse problem, acoustic tomography and MATLAB.

This post is full time and fixed-term for 12 months.

Salary: £33,199 - £39,609
