  • Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN)

  • Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months

  • Base salary will be in the range $82,057.75 - $109,246.18 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A)

  • Based at our St Lucia Campus


About This Opportunity

Focus your research on the development of new polymer electrolytes to be used in advanced batteries. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to collaborate and work closely with UQ colleagues, and industry and government partners to solve this challenging issue.


Key responsibilities will include:

Research

  • Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.

Supervision and Researcher Development

  • Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.

Citizenship and Service

  • Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD in the discipline area of electrochemistry, advanced batteries.

  • An emerging profile in research in the discipline area.

  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.

  • Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.

  • Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities.


Pre-employment Requirements

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, conduct concerning gender-based violence, criminal check, education check etc.
